Barrett Eng. LSWR B4 'Doddle' 0-4-0.
Offered as an unfinished project, the attractive Barrett B4 kits
were intended to be simple to construct, hence the term 'Doddle'!
Nevertheless, this model is largely complete and well painted and
lined in dark LSWR green livery. Twin cylinders, spirit-fired with
removable meths tank, slip-eccentric valve gear, etc. Cosmetically,
it simply requires buffers, sand boxes and some lamp irons to be
fitted. Castings for most of these are included in the sale. The model is
fitted with an axle pump too, which was a separate cost option.
Untested at present, but no doubt I will be checking it over in due
course, but otherwise it is offered in 'as seen' condition. An
interesting project for someone which should require minimal work to
finish. |

Accucraft C38 Pacific. A rare beast in this country, this
superb model of the Australian NSW C38 Class is based on the
preserved example #3801, sometimes referred to as the Australian
'Flying Scotsman'! Designed by Gordon Watson of Argyle Locomotives,
this limited Accucraft production is a robustly built model
with a high level of detail. Spirit-fired, axle and hand pumps,
fully working walschaerts valve gear, cylinder drain valves,
adjustable oil feed, 'pull-out' style of regulator, gauge glass
blow-down, etc. Has had occasional use only and is in excellent
running order. With wooden carry case. |
